Carbon Black/Natural Gas/No. 2 Diesel/Steel - Scrap Tires
Data indicates that each year the U.S. generates close to one used tire for each person, or 299 million tires, in 2005. A sizable portion, 155 million, were consumed as tire derived fuel and this amount is expected to increase as the cost of heating oil and natural gas increases. The remaining tires are stockpiled, and in many cases are public nuisances.
Utilizing cutting edge technology, tires can be broken down into four fully recyclable components.
- Carbon Black
- Natural Gas
- No. 2 Diesel
- Steel
